I have been on a travel kick lately. Maybe its the whole “I have no idea what I want to do with my life thing,” or maybe I’ve just been reading too many travel blogs like Juanted.
Unfortunately, a year sabbatical is far from in the cards for me at this time. My best hope is to be hitting Montreal with the family in July, a friend in Florida, and the grand finally of the summer travel season… a few weeks skiing and surfing in Argentina. These great plans are somewhat dependent on the ever-evolving work saga, but needless to say I’m pretty excited about these opportunities.
My one regret from college is never taking the opportunity to study abroad. I was always to tied up with student government or some other activity to spend a semester away. Us Americans have never really done the Gap-year thing, that is accustom in several European countries. So, exploring the world is something that takes a little planning and determination.
Never fear! I’ve stumbled across a few blogs (thanks to Jaunted) of some adventure seeking young people who have taken a year off to explore the world…LLWorldTour, Lost Girls.
So if around 2012 or so you might be interested in a bit of a sabbatical, keep in touch!
